Waste & Recycling

Efficient waste management is an important way to help build sustainable communities. Since 2005, Council has:

Provided separate recycling bins for containers and paper/cardboard so residents can recycle more items
Launched a flexible 'Your Call' household clean-up collection system to help reduce the amount of dumped rubbish on our streets
Issued free garden waste bins for residents to dispose of leaves, prunings, grass and other garden waste material.
Encouraged and assisted with composting and wormfarming by providing equipment at low prices, organising workshops and running community education programs on food waste and composting
