Access Bondi!

Access bondi

Waverley Council is committed to making our beaches accessible for everyone.

Beach wheelchairs

Council has two wheelchairs available for use, one for an adult and one for a child. These are located in lockers on the promenade at the northern end of the beach. These lockers provide a secure place to store your own wheelchair while enjoying the beach.

Booking a beach wheelchair is essential – to book, email venuehire.bondipavilion@waverley.nsw.gov.au or call 9083 8300.

Plan your visit

Bondi Beach Park and promenade can be accessed from both the main entrance on Campbell Parade and from the northern end of the beach. The promenade provides level access to view the length of the beach.

Access to the beach is from a ramp located at the northern end of the beach, close to Wally Weekes children's pool. The northern end of the beach usually offers the most protection from the weather in summer and is the preferred swimming area. Council recommends that you check conditions before your visit.

Accessible and ambulant toilets are located at the North Bondi and South Bondi amenities. There is also an outdoor shower at North Bondi alongside the beach wheelchair storage locker to enable people to wash away the sand before transferring back into their own wheelchair. An accessible shower and change rooms are also located in Bondi Pavilion.

Bondi, Bronte and Tamarama beaches are patrolled by professional lifeguards seven days a week. If you need assistance, visit the main lifeguard tower in the middle of the beach year-round, and also the northern and southern towers during summer.

Find out more about our iconic beaches, beach safety and our lifeguards by visiting Beaches & coast, or refer to Bondi Beach Park and Bondi Pavilion for information about parking and facilities.
