Sustainability Rebates for Apartments Trial

sustainable rebates

Trying to make apartment buildings more energy efficient comes with the added complexity of navigating the input of many residents, strata rules and larger infrastructure. The Sustainability Rebates for Apartments Trial is a Waverley Council program to assist strata committees overcome these challenges.

Successful applicants receive:

Up to $5,000 in rebates for any of the following products or services;

  • Common area energy assessments
  • Installation of rooftop solar for apartments
  • Electrification of centralised hot water
  • Electrification of swimming pool and/or spa heating

Note, the assessment / installations must be completed and paid for by 30 June 2024 in order to be eligible for the program. As such, strata owners should only proceed if the organisation can cover the full cost of the works should the rebate application be unsuccessful.

A list of energy consultants who service the area and provide strata advice is available.
