The Children Act, based on the book by Ian McEwan, follows Fiona Maye, an eminent judge who works in the Family Division of the Hight Court. One day she is presented with a complex case involving a 17-year-old boy who refuses a life-saving blood transfusion due to his religious beliefs. As she deliberates, she must weigh the legal and ethical ramifications of overriding his wishes to save his life. At the same time, her personal life begins to unravel, highlighting the emotional toll of her work. The film explores themes of ethics, faith, and personal responsibility.
