Bondi Pavilion Retail Commercial Public Tender

" "
On Thursday 19 December 2019, the Sydney Eastern City Planning Panel gave Council the green light to restore the Pavilion to its former glory with a detailed design that has been guided by the Bondi Pavilion Conservation Management Plan (CMP) and extensive community consultation. On 19 June, Council officially handed the building over to our head contractor, Buildcorp to start works on the restoration, which is likely to take around 18 months to complete.

Key features include:

  • replacement of the current roof tiles to the original cordova pattern in terracotta
  • a tourist and box office
  • flexible cultural spaces called the ‘Bondi Story Room’, where the history of the local area will be on show
  • a larger Pottery Studio including a second kiln
  • beautiful spacious art gallery
  • new toilets, showers and a family and accessible bathroom and change space
  • community radio station
  • expansive refurbishments and upgrade to all the Pavilion’s unique existing rooms.

Tender for commercial tenancies

In addition to these features the existing retail commercial spaces facing the beach will be refurbished into 2-3 vacant tenancy shells, this will allow them to be re-let via public tender. The first space to be offered for lease is ‘Shop 4’ at the southern end of the building. See the draft premises plan here , or in the quick links on the right of this page. There is approximately 440sqm of internal space in Shop 4 and approximately 400sqm of potential outdoor seating area, subject to Development Application approval.

This tenancy presents a unique and exciting opportunity for professional food and beverage operators to establish their new business in an iconic heritage building in one of Australia’s best known and loved locations. The successful tenderer will benefit from Bondi Beach’s high visitation and have the opportunity to create an acclaimed destination venue for locals and visitors.

The Tender will go live mid-July 2020 and the tender package can be downloaded from Tenderlink.
