Nomination, eligibility and guidelines

The Mark & Evette Moran Nib Literary Award acknowledges works demonstrating excellence in research, literary merit, readability and value to the community.

Eight prizes are offered in total:

  • 1 x Mark & Evette Moran Nib Literary Award – $40,000
  • 6 x Alex Buzo Shortlist Prize – $1,500 each
  • 1 x People’s Choice Prize – $4,000

Literary works of any genre that are newly published (between 1 July of the previous year and 30 June of the current year) may be eligible for consideration. Nominations must be the original work of no more than two joint Australian authors and must be submitted in English.

  
  N.B. Nominations are open nationally each year between April – June. Please check back here during the nomination period for the most current eligibility and award guidelines, and to make a submission.
