Waverley Art Prize
The Waverley Art Prize has been running since 1986 as a painting and drawing prize. The Prize is aimed at emerging to professional artists, with four award categories:
- The Open Prize: $15,000 and acquisition into the Waverley Council Collection.
- The Mayor’s Prize: $2,000 and acquisition into the Waverley Council Collection.
- The Local Prize: $1,500 non-acquisitive sponsored by Waverley Woollahra Art School.
- The People’s Choice Prize: $500 non-acquisitive.
The Judges for 2025 are Anne Ryan, Curator Australian Art, AGNSW, and Jasper Knight, artist.
The work of finalists is exhibited at Bondi Pavilion Art Gallery.
The funds raised through the art prize support Waverley Woollahra Art School and help them sustain their role as the longest running artist run initiative in Waverley.
