Alcohol-free zones

To keep our beaches, parks and streets safe, Waverley has a number of alcohol-free zones and alcohol prohibited areas. Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte beaches and public streets are classified as alcohol-free zones, meaning that you are not permitted to consume alcohol in these areas. Smoking is also prohibited on all three beaches.

Below are our guiding principles on alcohol-free zones:

  1. Enhancing public safety to ensure the well-being of our community.
  2. Preserving public harmony and peaceful environments.
  3. Promoting responsible living and healthier communities.
  4. Supporting a secure and family-friendly environment.
