Shore Break
Theatre
Details
Poetic and electric, Shore Break is a riveting piece of storytelling with a tour de force performance by Chris Pitman.
Waiting for the perfect wave to break; a man sits with his surfboard, his eyes trained to the horizon, looking for the first signs of a new swell. He is flooded with memories. All the people he has left behind.
Hilarious and gut-wrenching, Shore Break is a play about reconciling the damage of a life half lived. A symmetry of poetic storytelling and inhabited performance from one of South Australia’s leading actors, Shore Break speaks to male vulnerability, and has you riding an emotional wave you don’t see coming.
“It is with utter conviction that I urge you to see this work.”
- Stage Whispers
“The performance and script by Chris Pitman are a tour de force, and the standing ovation well-deserved after this marathon of a monologue. The direction by Chelsea Griffith is subtle and uncluttered. A compelling and quintessentially Australian theatre piece with universal appeal, this powerful play is an important addition to our understanding of ourselves and our own contribution to this world."
- The Clothesline
“Shore Break is a beautifully crafted, poignant and a thought-provoking piece of theatre that showcases Pitman’s storytelling power. I implore you, do not miss it."
