Waverley Park Oval and fields
Waverley Park includes numerous open spaces that cater to a variety of sport and recreational activities. Its well-maintained fields are used by numerous local sporting clubs and associations, making it a focal point for both organised sport and casual play.
Waverley Oval
Waverley Oval is one of the park’s standout features. With a turf cricket pitch and grandstand with 250 seats for spectators, Waverley Oval is a historic ground that offers a premier venue for cricket matches. In addition to serving as the home for the Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club, the Oval's well-kept turf and amenities make it a top choice for both local competitions and visiting teams.
Waverley Park synthetic field 2
Waverley Park synthetic field 2 is multi-sport field that meets the playing requirements of FIFA, ARU and NRL. Numerous clubs have regular winter use of this field for football (soccer), rugby league, rugby union, Gaelic football and Australian rules.
Field 2 has permanent line markings for football (soccer), rugby union and there are markers for rugby league. Combined football and rugby posts can be provided.
The surface is suitable for all types of weather, so bookings can go ahead in wet weather.
Waverley Park field 3
Waverley Park field 3 is a small 40m x 60m multi-sport field next to synthetic field 2 that is suitable for training or small-sided games. Lights and line marking are available, and users can use the amenities at the Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre or the Amenity Building. It does not have goal posts, however users are welcome to bring their own.
