Local sporting clubs and regular activities

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or simply looking to meet new people, Waverley offers something for residents of all ages and abilities. Our open spaces are home to various sporting clubs and associations, providing opportunities to engage a range of activities including in tennis, football, basketball, cricket and more.
School holiday events are also available.
The Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre runs a number of regular activities for seniors aimed at improving both physical and mental health. They are also a great opportunity to meet new friends and are a lot of fun!
Bookings are not required for these classes; entry is offered on a first come, first served basis. It is advised that you bring your own equipment.

Table Tennis
Sessions run from 10am-1pm on Tuesdays and 10am-12pm Fridays (excluding school and Public Holidays). Located at the indoor sports court, which is equipped with 10 table tennis tables.
Pickleball
Session runs from 10am-12pm Fridays (excluding school and Public Holidays). Located at the indoor sports court, which is equipped with 2 Pickleball courts. This session runs alongside our Friday table tennis, so participants can pay one fee and enjoy both sports!
Tai Chi
Classes take place in the Community Room, on Mondays from 11.30am–12.30pm (excluding Public Holidays).
Pilates
Classes take place in the Community Room every Monday and Wednesday at 9.30am–10.30am (excluding Public Holidays).
Yoga
Classes take place in the Community Room on Thursday mornings from 9.15am–10.15am and 10.30am–11.30am.
Strength & Flexibility
Fusing Pilates, Yoga, Strength & Stretch training, this class is a total body workout focused on strength and endurance, postural alignment, balance and core strength. Class takes place in the Community Room on Tuesday at 2pm–3pm.
