Margaret Whitlam Recreation Center

Council’s sport facilities are available for use by community groups, local sporting clubs and schools, for recreational activities and organised sports. Council takes pride in ensuring that our playing fields and sports venues are not only well-maintained but also safe and accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

Situated in the historic Waverley Park, Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre (MWRC) is the largestsports and recreation hub in Waverley. It supports local sporting clubs with long histories and welcomes new groups and individuals. In addition to two hireable rooms, it has a 1000m2 multifunction indoor sports court, a grandstand with 250 seats for spectators, changing rooms and ancillary facilities.

Waverley Park has a number of other sport facilities, including Waverley Oval and two adjoining fields, three netball courts, three multipurpose courts suitable for netball, basketball and tennis, a bocce court and two synthetic cricket nets.

A range of hireable sport facilities can also be found at Barracluff Park, Dudley Page Reserve, Hugh Bamford Reserve and Rodney Reserve.

Queens Park has numerous fields available for hire on a seasonal or casual basis. This park is not administered by Waverley Council. For bookings, please visit Centennial Parklands.
