Embracing the circular economy means designing out waste, using and reusing resources efficiently to make them as productive as possible, and minimising what is thrown away. It requires active support for processes like reuse, repair, maintenance, refurbishment, remanufacture, composting, and recycling.
With funding from the NSW Environment Protection Authority and in partnership with key local businesses, we have developed a Bondi Junction Circular Economy Roadmap to help our community create less waste, less greenhouse gas emissions, and less harm to our environment, in our highly populated, commercial business district. Our Roadmap is guided by the following principles:
