Cemetery Gardening
Waverley Council's Cemetery Gardening program began as a small volunteer initiative in 2023. Taking place on various days each month at Waverley Cemetery, the program is working to improve the area’s coastal biodiversity corridor by providing shelter and food for native birds, insects, reptiles and mammals.
The program is an opportunity for local volunteers to garden, get fit, socialise and enjoy the well-being benefits of being outside in one of Waverley’s largest green spaces.
Gardening at Waverley Cemetery takes place once a month on Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings and Wednesday mornings. You’ll be provided with all equipment, tools, plants, supervision and instruction.
