Make a donation

Waverley Library does not accept book donations. Please consider local charities instead. If you have items relevant to Waverley’s local history, please contact us.

Waverley Library provides a broad range of services for the community. Literacy and reading, study and information, community and cultural programs, storytelling for disadvantaged groups and a Home Library Service are just a few of the services provided.

If you would like to make a tax deductable donation to the library, a receipt will be issued to enable you to claim a tax deduction.

Things to consider when making a donation:

  • Waverley Library is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
  • Most gifts to the library may be claimed as tax deductions.
  • Gifts can be used by the library and include cash, property, cultural gifts or bequests, for example significant collections of books or historical photographs.
  • The amount of the deduction will depend on the type of gift. For cash, it is the amount of the gift. For other gifts, valuations (which may also be tax deductible) are required. The general rule is that the amount of the deduction is the average of two or more written valuations made by valuers approved by the Departments of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. The library can provide a list of approved valuers.
  • All cash donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
  • GST is not applicable to donations.
