Child Safe Policy
Keeping children safe is everyone's responsibility. As an organisation that offers early childhood education and care services, Council understands the important role our staff play in the prevention of child abuse and are committed to creating safe places for children to thrive.
Download Council's Child Safe Policy here.
In 2020, Council established a working group to review our Child Safe Policy. This group is also responsible for:
- Responding to reports of child exploitation, abuse and policy noncompliance;
- Conducting child protection risk assessments, audits and spot checks;
- Monitoring internal and external compliance with the policy; and
- Providing child protection training.
Child abuse is any physical or emotional ill treatment of a minor. It can take place in many forms such as physical assault, sexual assault, neglect and emotional or psychological abuse. |
For child safe training and resources, visit the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
For a comprehensive list of support and resources, visit our Services directory.
