Sydney Craft Week is here

09 October 2018 | Council News

Sydney Craft Week is an initiative of Australian Design Centre (ADC), a not for profit organisation showcasing and supporting contemporary craft and design. It’s an inspirational festival that speaks to our fundamental human urge to create, while also showcasing exceptional contemporary craft.

It unites the very active craft sector within Sydney's creative community - including ceramicists, jewellers, quilters, knitters and other textile artists, plus timber workers, print makers, leather crafters, Indigenous makers and creatives of all kinds who work with their hands.

In the second year of the festival, we are proud to be involved, hosting Craft Up Late – with Bondi Pavilion’s Pottery Studio open after hours on Wednesday 10 October, and a Craft Talk on ‘Craft and the New Ecologies of Making’ on Sunday 14 October with Rod Bamford, who works at the intersections of art, craft and design. He is represented in major collections and has recently returned from Heading the Ceramics and Glass Department at the Royal College of Art in London.
