A message from the Mayor

09 April 2020 | Council News

On behalf of everyone at Waverley Council, I would like to wish our community a safe and happy Easter and Passover. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we’ll be spending these holidays, so it’s important that we continue to maintain our community connections during these challenging times.

Please, make sure to pick up the phone and check on your relatives and friends or leave one of our community cards in your neighbour’s letterbox. These cards will be sent to each household in Waverley. They are also available to download here to print at home.

Our Connected Waverley Facebook group is also a great way to share volunteering opportunities, promote grass-roots, community-led initiatives, connect and support neighbours and request assistance and share resources. I encourage you to join at https://www.facebook.com/groups/connectedwaverley/

Please, continue to follow the Governments’ guidelines about social distancing and stay at home where possible. A reminder that our beaches remain closed until further notice and we will be keeping a close eye on the number of people on the Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk. If you need to go outside to exercise, please consider becoming a tourist in your suburb by choosing alternative walking paths and running routes as we will have to close the coastal walk if it gets too busy.

Happy holidays everyone.
