A Message from the Mayor

17 February 2022 | Council News

Thursday 17 March

On behalf of everyone at Waverley Council, I would like to express my condolences to the family of the man killed in yesterday’s shark attack at Little Bay.

Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte beaches remain closed today and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. Our ocean pools remain open.

We will continue to follow the advice of the Department of Primary Industries and Police, and will let the community know when beaches will reopen.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to stay safe and always follow the instructions of our lifeguards.

Again, I offer my condolences to the man’s family, and extend our support to our colleagues at Randwick City Council.
