UPDATE: garbage collection

UPDATE 11 March

Waverley Council is pleased to report that red-lidded bins were collected this morning following an alert this week about possible delays.

On Wednesday, the Council advised the community that rubbish collection may be delayed this week due to flooding along the waste transfer route via rail between Sydney and Woodlawn which is impacting waste collection for metropolitan Councils including Waverley.

Green lid bins from Thursday and today’s collection zones, and blue lid bins from today’s collection zones, will be collected over the coming days, so please leave these bins out for collection. Zone and "Your Call" booked collections will continue over the weekend. Residents are not required to contact Council about individual waste collections.

Council is attending to repairs and safety issues following this fortnight’s wild weather as quickly as possible. The quickest way to report an urgent problem, including potholes and fallen trees, is via the free Snap Send Solve app. You can also make a request here.

The NSW Environmental Protection Authority released this news item yesterday about interruptions to bin collection in Sydney’s north, south, inner west, and eastern suburbs.

The safety of our people and our community is our Council’s top priority.
