Bronte Pool closure - we're preparing for summer!

As we bid farewell to the 2024 winter solstice and the days start to feel longer, we turn our attention to the summer season ahead of us. In preparations for a summer of ocean fun, we will be closing Bronte Pool during the remaining winter period for planned maintenance.

Closures are important to allow necessary repairs, which ensure that the pool is in a safe and functional condition for all the community to enjoy currently and into the future. During this time, Council will be carrying out pool Lining Removal Works, which includes the removal of existing pool lining that has delaminated from the pool shell and poses a safety risk to pool users. Spot repairs of the pool’s shell will also be carried out synchronously.

Works will commence from Monday 8 July and continue throughout winter.

If you’re a fan of winter swimming, there are plenty of alternate ocean pool facilities available in the eastern suburbs, including:

  • Clovelly Ocean Pool (Clovelly)
  • Wiley’s Baths (Coogee)
  • Mahon Pool (Maroubra)
  • Iceberg’s Pool (Bondi)

Just as we want to keep our pool safe and clean, we also want to do the same for our amenities. As such, the male change rooms at Bronte Pool will be closed for refurbishments from 1-7 July.
