- Access to Bondi Beach during Mardi Gras
Access to Bondi Beach during Mardi Gras
14 February 2024 | Council News
Access to Bondi Beach between 15 - 23 February
During the set-up period, access to Bondi Beach will be maintained at all times, including along the promenade and Queen Elizabeth Drive. However, there will be some additional traffic and parking impacts.
Access to Bondi Park will be limited during the event build period. For anyone using the park during this time, all efforts will be made to ensure the park is safe for users.
Access to Bondi Beach during the event on 24 February
The event will take place on Saturday 24 February between 2pm - 10pm in Bondi Park (south), with the stage located on Bondi Beach itself. Bondi Park will be closed to the public during this period.
From 6pm on Friday 23 February until 6am on Sunday 25 February, access along the Bondi promenade will not be available from south of the Lifeguard tower to the skate park at the south end of Bondi Beach.
Pedestrians will need to detour from the promenade around the event site. Ramps 2 and 3 which lead onto the beach will also be closed during this time. However, Ramp 1 which is located at the far southern end of the beach will remain open.
Access to Bondi Beach between 25 - 28 February
During the de-install period, there will be some additional traffic and parking impacts along Queen Elizabeth Drive. However, access to Bondi Beach will be maintained at all times.
Planning your visit
If you plan on visiting Bondi between 15 - 28 February, please keep these details in mind and plan accordingly.
If you're attending the event, we expect large crowds and limited parking on the day so recommend using public transport to get to and from Bondi. Please see here for a road closures and clearway map for further details.
