What's on in Waverley in December
03 December 2024 | Council News
We’ve got a few last-minute items to add to your 2024 bingo card before we ring in the new year, so mark your calendars!
Celebrate our new community hot-spot
To celebrate the opening of Diamond Bay Reserve, we’re hosting a community day on Sunday 8 December. While the kids visit our petting zoo or face painting station, grab a free gelato and coffee and meet the Mayor of Waverley Will Nemesh to chat all things Waverley. This is sure to be a lovely day of community, connection, and fun (plus you don’t need to book!).
Get your culture fix
Rise and Fall by Karla Dickens launches at Bondi Pavilion on 7 December. Acclaimed artist Karla Dickens brings a thought-provoking collection, exploring themes of resilience and resistance. Open daily and a must-see for art lovers.
Let the festive times roll
Light Up Waverley and win big!
Win 1 of 6 $500 Westfield vouchers big by entering our Light Up Waverley festive lights competition, just in time for last-minute Christmas shopping! All you have to do is deck your halls with festive lights, or other decorations, and send us a snap before 10 December.
No time to decorate? We'll be giving you the chance spread the festive cheer by voting for your favourite entry to win our People's Choice Award. Keep an eye on our social channels and newsletter for more.
Carols by the Sea
Set against the stunning backdrop of Bondi Beach, Carols by the Sea is a quintessential Bondi summer event. So pack your picnic blanket and get ready to sing along to your favourite Christmas carols at Bondi Pavilion Dolphin Court on Wednesday, 11 December, from 5.30pm.
More festive fun at our favourite community venues
There are plenty of extra festive-fun activities happening at Waverley Library and the Mill Hill Community Centre and The Boot Factory. Visit our website to see the full lineup.
Stand with us against violence
Join Allies Against Violence on 7 December at Randwick Townhall for an important gathering to promote awareness and action against domestic violence. Don’t miss your opportunity to make a difference in our community.
Stay safe on our iconic beaches
Nothing says summer like a day at the beach. There’s no better way to cool off after all! Bondi, Bronte, and Tamarama offer pristine sand, surf, and spectacular views. So, take a dive between the flags and grab some fish and chips, because it’s going to be a scorcher.
Just remember to follow our beach safety tips so that you can #StaySafeThisSummer!
