Small grants achieve big things

Got a great idea? Need some help to make it happen? Waverley Council’s Small Grants Program offers grants of up to $12,000 for projects that make a difference in the local community.

You can turn your bright ideas into real projects with the help of a small grant for a sustainability, streetscape or any project with community benefit.

Previously funded projects include:

  • The Loco Project - a big, pink pop up art gallery in a shipping container, showcasing local
    And international talent.
  • Bayfest free music festival - featuring music, performance, food and fun put together by
    Music students at Rose bay Secondary College.
  • Tactile Tours - provides access to the annual Sculpture by the Sea exhibition for people
    With disabilities.
  • Bronte Public School - funding for a native bee hive which helps students learn about the
    Importance of bees and the life cycle of animals.
  • Sydney Jewish Festival - a grant to support Shir Madness a festival celebrating the
    Diversity of Jewish music.

Council allocates funds of around $100,000 each financial year for small grants, spread over two funding rounds. This includes up to $12,000 for environmental grants and $6000 for Creative Streets.
