Bondi, Bronte and Tamarama beaches closed out of precaution

All Waverley Beaches have been closed to the public today, Thursday 17 October 2024, after Waverley Council was formally notified from the EPA that pea to marble size balls of light grey - white colour were observed by EPA staff on Bondi, Bronte and Tamarama beaches.

As a precaution, all Waverley Beaches will be closed until further investigation has been carried out by the EPA and relevant Government bodies.

Waverley Mayor Will Nemesh, said Council would prioritise the safety of the community, and continue to monitor the situation closely.

“The wellbeing of our community is paramount. That’s why Council has taken the precaution to close our beaches” the Mayor said.
