Mayor Paula Masselos said the Council looks forward to working in partnership with Bronte Surf Life Saving Club and architects Warren and Mahoney to see the new building and facilities come to life. The Council also congratulates Bronte SLSC for securing $1 million in grant funding for the redevelopment from the NSW Government.

“The redevelopment will see the existing, dilapidated building demolished to make way for a new, sustainable hub meeting the needs of Waverley Council park operations, contemporary surf lifesaving and for use as a community meeting space for our Waverley community,” Mayor Masselos said.

"The landmark building will provide better lifeguard facilities, add green space to Bronte Park via the communal rooftop, open up new view corridors, improve workplace health and safety requirements and will ensure the service the Club provides to the community will continue into the future.”

Bronte Surf Life Saving Club President, Basil Scaffidi thanked the community and its members for their support throughout the project.

“Bronte Surf Life Saving Club trains and maintains more than 400 active volunteer lifesavers on patrol, educates around 800 Nippers each season and is one of the oldest surf clubs in NSW. This new building will help us continue this service into the future,"  Mr Scaffidi said.
