Revocation of Perpetual Interment Rights
Waverley Cemetery is seeking to contact historical Rights of Burial holders or their heirs or successors.
In accordance with the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2013 (NSW), Section 52 - “Revocation of Perpetual Interment Rights”, notice is given of the possible intention to reclaim Rights of Burial issued in Waverley Cemetery that have not been used for over 50 years since originally granted.
The proposal only affects interment sites that DO NOT contain burials. The interment sites that have been identified for this purpose are shown below. If no successful claim is received after 6 months, the interment sites will be made available for continued use.
Affected Right of Burial holders or their heirs or successors can secure or retain their entitlement by submitting an enquiry via our online form.
