Waverley’s two cemeteries are dream locations for photographers. Waverley Cemetery boasts a unique clifftop position, wide ocean backdrop and ethereal white marble monuments, while South Head General Cemetery is a prime location for creative shots, with its sturdy cast-iron entry gates, imposing monuments, mausoleums and family vaults.
Amateur photographers are welcome to visit the cemetery to take photos. However, please be respectful of other visitors and the deceased. Do not walk on graves or climb on monuments and move to another section of the cemetery if you encounter a burial service taking place.
For all filming and commercial still photography, approval from Waverley Council is required. Please take a look at Council's website before contacting us for further information.
