Maintenance and works

While interment rights holders are responsible for maintaining their family interment sites, Waverley Cemeteries provide basic annual maintenance of the aisles and tops of interment sites as part of its regular operations. Waverley Cemeteries also offer additional services including annual maintenance plans, one off requests for maintenance, grave washing, cleaning and one-off planting and re-turfing of individual sites. Request additional maintenance services by submitting an application for grave care maintenance form.

When an interment rights holder wishes to engage a monumental mason to undertake new works or maintain or repair existing monuments at their interment site, the rights holder must engage directly with the monumental mason, who will submit an application for permit to perform monument works form to the cemetery on their behalf. All work undertaken must be consistent with the requirements of the Waverley Cemetery’s Heritage Order and be carried out by an approved contractor.
